Inside Anthony Joshua’s Workout and Diet to Become the Boxing Champ

Anthony Joshua, known for his chiseled physique, has been at the pinnacle of boxing, and he will defend his WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight title against Oleksandr Usyk in London on September 25.

The British boxer has been training harder and smarter than ever before, employing his usual boxing workout routines, which involve sparring, movement training, and muscle training for explosive bursts.

Joshua's training regime involves a mix of morning cardio workouts comprising exercises like running, swimming, and cycling to majorly focus on his endurance.

In the afternoon, Joshua focuses on strength training by doing a mix of full-body exercises like deadlifts, squats, presses, barbell thrusters, hip bridges, plyometric jumps, and medicine ball throws.

With his usual evening boxing sessions, which include heavybag, speedbag, and sparring, Anthony trains 30 hours per week and points out that consistency is critical for getting in shape.

Heading towards the 'fighting machine's' diet, Anthony Joshua consumes 5000 calories a day to be lean ahead of his fights. Joshua's morning starts 2 meals with 5 eggs, among other food.

He typically starts his day with fruits, porridge oats, milk, and a smoothie, followed by a meal consisting of eggs, spinach, apple juice, smoked salmon, and one banana.

For lunch, AJ eats, 2 large chicken breasts, salmon, lamb fillets, rice, and whole meal pasta, and for dinner, he often eats 2 large fresh salmon or chicken with mixed veggies or brown rice and butter.
