Cody Rhodes made a heroic entry in WWE as the 30th entrant of the Royal Rumble 2023. Icing on the cake, he fought with the dangerous Gunther and eliminated him, thus winning the prestigious event.
The former AEW executive vice president made his return to WWE under the leadership of Triple H and now is all set be one of the top stars in WWE Universe.
During the press conference, The American Nightmare was asked about his thoughts on working with the new boss Triple H, to which Rhodes replied, "I will say, I don't want to get mushy with it, but Triple H has no reason to be a fan of mine if you think about it."
"I smashed the throne, I took a lot of shots — always light-hearted — but I think he knew where it was coming from. I was hungry." The Royal Rumble winner further added.
Rhodes also recalled an incident when the Chief Content Officer Triple H allowed him to rattle the cages when The American Nightmare was frustrated with his Stardust role.
Rhodes praised The Game and said, "I’m so glad that relationship gets to develop now. I’m clearly a massive Triple H fan. I’m glad he’s the coach, and I get to play. I want to play quarterback. I owe him a lot for how he handled my dad"
He also thanked Triple H for recognizing his talent and not looking up to him because of his late father Dusty Rhodes.
"I don’t want him to look at me and see my dad. I want him to look at me and see me. Today, I felt like he saw me. . My last name has done a lot of things for me, but we’re at a point in my career where my first name has to do those things as well." said Rhodes.
