Former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has given his take on Khamzat Chimaev missing weight ahead of UFC 279.
In a recent event Khabib said, "If you are a Muslim, you should have good people around you – Muslims who can say: ‘Hey, don’t do this,'"
Former lightweight champion Khabib has himself failed to make weight on several occasions during his UFC career.
Chimaev was overweight by nearly 8 pounds at the UFC 279 ahead of his fight against Nate Diaz in the main event.
Chimaev went on to fight Kevin Holland in a catchweight bout at the UFC 279's co-main event. He submitted Kevin Holland in the very first round.

This was Khamzat Chimaev's sixth consecutive victory since his debut UFC debut back in 2020 and fifth finish in UFC.
Khamzat Chimaev also got involved in the "fake" glove touch controversy at the beginning of his fight.
