Cristiano Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the best soccer players of this generation. His career statistics are staggering as he has already won 5 ballon d'Or and has propelled his clubs/country to 34 trophies.
Amidst the glory and glamour, Ronaldo had a tough childhood. His family had to live with various financial constraints.
Despite all the hurdles, Ronaldo's mother single-handedly surpassed all the obstacles to give Ronaldo enough resources that made him the superstar that he is right now.
Ronaldo also explained the harsh conditions his family faced during his upbringing, made some heart-wrenching revelations to the world, and also revealed why he would never buy a house for his mother.
In an interview, Ronaldo said, "My mother raised me and she dedicated her life for me. She would go to sleep hungry, just to let me eat, We had no money at all. She worked 7 days a week and nights as a maid to buy my first shoes so I could be a player".
Ronaldo further stated, “All my success is dedicated to her and because of her and as long as she has a life, she will always be by my side, she has everything I can give. She is my refuge and my greatest gift.”
A Shocking report came across that stated that Ronaldo's mother initially intended to abort Ronaldo's birth and she did everything she could to kill the infant however her plan failed.
However, Aveiro in retrospect to her decision back then said "Sometimes Ronaldo makes fun of me and says ‘You didn’t want me to be born. But now you see that I’m here helping all of you.’ And, well, sometimes we have a laugh about that.”
