The former UFC champion Francis Ngannou stands loyal to his Cameroonian ethnicity by correcting UFC for their mistake after they addressed one of their UFC fighters in UFC Vegas 78 wrongly.

In UFC Vegas 78, Tafon Nchukwi lost to his opponent, AJ Dobson. During Nchukwi's walkout song, the UFC team referred to him as 'the only Cameroonian fighter in the promotion's history'.

This statement sparked a ton of controversy across many social media platforms, and fans rebuked the mistake as well. They pointed out that their former champion was of the same ethnicity.

Francis Ngannou, who was a former UFC heavyweight champion and one of their most famous fighters, left the promotion after having issues with the pay scales of fighters and struck a deal with PFL.

And belonging to his Cameroonian ethnicity, he took up his Twitter account to call out UFC officials and correct their mistake. He explained that he was not the first Cameroonian fighter either.

Ngannou was referring to the three-fight UFC veteran Rameau Sokoudjou, who shared the same ethnicity as him as he was born in Hom'la, Cameroon, and paying a respectful homage to him.

"Thierry Sokoudjou was the first Cameroonian in the UFC. I was second. Don’t let them lie and erase history ❤️🥇" Wrote Ngannou, clearing out the confusion of many fans who were unaware of the fact.

Although the incident has also raised many questions about whether it was done intentionally or was a genuine mistake as Ngannou's recent rough history with the promotion is not a secret.
