The upcoming fight between Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier has heightened the anticipation of MMA fans; even UFC stars are not strangers to it. Max Holloway recently expressed his thoughts on it.

Former undisputed Featherweight champion Max Holloway has high expectations for the main event in UFC 291. Along with it, he continues to tease his fans about a return to the lightweight division.

“It’s for the BMF belt. If you make any fight for the BMF belt, this is the fight. I’m glad that these guys have the opportunity to win the BMF belt. These guys are studs." said Holloway.

Alongside this, Holloway also expressed his willingness to fight either Gaethje or Poirier for the BMF title in the future. He also mentions that the fight will be a big one for fans.

"I wanna throw my name out in that hat sooner or later now that the BMF belt is around 155. That would be cool. I would love to fight either of these guys just for fan purposes. This is a huge fight."

Since his loss of featherweight to Volkanovski, Holloway has improvised his performance a lot further, to be more action-packed, rightfully establishing himself as one of the best featherweights.

In his last three fights, Max has bagged wonderful victories over Arnold Allen, Yair Rodriguez, and Calvin Kattar, ranking him number 1 as per the UFC featherweight rankings as of May 2023.

Hence, the idea of Holloway making an entry in lightweight seems like a thrilling one for fans. And whoever the opponent might be, Gaethje or Poirier, the fight will surely be a great one to watch.
