Former NBA star Shawn Kemp was arrested this week following police reports of a drive-by shooting at the Tacoma Mall in Washington.

The confrontation between Kemp and an unnamed individual reportedly ended in gunfire. There were no injuries reported.

Kemp is a six-time NBA all-star and was considered one of the best power forwards of his era. He was known for his athleticism and high-flying dunks.

Kemp played for multiple teams throughout his career, including the Seattle SuperSonics, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Portland Trail Blazers.

According to Kemp's attorney, his car was broken into and several of his belongings were stolen, including his iPhone. Later on, Kemp tracked his stolen phone, which led him to a vehicle in the mall parking lot.

When Kemp approached the car, people inside began firing at him, to which Kemp responded by returning fire at them in self-defense, as per his lawyer.

According to a Pierce County Prosecutor's Office representative, no charges were filed against Kemp, and he was released from custody pending further investigation.

This is not the first time Kemp has had legal issues. In 2005, he was arrested in Seattle and accused of having marijuana and cocaine in his vehicle. Presently, he owns two licensed cannabis stores in Seattle.
