Extreme Opinions From Both Sides After Brittney Griner’s Release

Brittney Griner was arrested on February 17th for carrying marijuana vape cartridges through a Russian airport.

This is considered a serious crime and she was sentenced to 9 years imprisonment despite pleading guilty and was soon sent off to a Penal Camp.

Her wife, Cherelle Griner was devastated after receiving troubling phone calls from Brittney and  urged the US administration to bring BG home.

Sports commentator Joe Rogan spoke out on this issue and reminded us that people are locked up in America for the same crimes.

Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving supported a tweet demanding that all non celebrity athletes be released as well.

Despite some people disapproving, the majority of the public including even LeBron James and Stephen Curry demanded that Griner be released.

Russia knew America would pay a high price and soon orchestrated an exchange for the return of arms dealer and terrorist Viktor Bout.

The Biden administration was further criticized for rescuing Griner but also ignoring another prisoner in Russia Paul Wheelan.

Nonetheless, people were still relieved to find out that Brittney Griner was released, safe and on a plane back home to her loved ones.
