The 2022 FIFA world just got concluded and it was a riveting tournament. The script was full of twists and turns. The final between Argentina and France was an example of how compelling this world was.
It was all down to penalty shootouts and Argentina held their nerve to a 4-2 PK win against France all thanks to Emiliano Martinez's crazy saves.
Martinez was also awarded the golden glove den glove for his terrific saves however he was heavily criticized for his obscene celebrations
Apart from this, Martinez is also under scrutiny for his disrespect towards the French forward Kylian Mbappe as Martinez was holding a baby soft toy with Mbappe's face during the victory parade.
In retaliation, the French FA president has officially lodged a complaint against the Argentine GK for his childish gestures.
In an interview, he said, “I wrote to my counterpart from the Argentine Federation, I find these excesses abnormal, in the context of a sports competition, and I find it difficult to understand."
On the other hand, The French sports Minister was also not pleased with the mockery and that she will have a conversation with the Argentine sports minister regarding the matter.
Netizens had a mixed bag of opinions on this incident, as some of the fans believe that the Argentine Goalkeeper should be punished while few of them back Martinez for his bullying personality.
