The upcoming fight between Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier at UFC 291 for the vacant BMF title has set the whole MMA community in a cycle of anticipation.

The two former interim lightweight champions are set to battle it out in a rematch on Saturday of their 2018 match, in which Poirier defeated Gethje by TKO in the fourth round.

While the duo has been teasing the fans with their confident messages through social media platforms, it has been a heck of a ride for fans to witness the ongoing banter between the two.

Adding a fresh message to the ongoing banter, Poirier gave a warning to Gaethje in the interview on media day of UFC 291, mentioning his opinion about Gaethje trying to be technical.

"If he wants to technically kickbox and grapple with me, I think his best chances are to catch me being crazy and land a shot. If he tries to be methodical, I’m going to show you levels for sure."

He added, "It’s going to get rough. As I said before, adversity will present itself in this fight but I trust myself to get off the stool, keep myself safe, find the openings, and pick my shots."

He also mentioned, "I’ve matured a lot in this sport and I think you are going to see that Saturday." Since his last fight with Gaethje he has only lost two undisputed title fights and won 6 others.

The fight between the duo will be a thing to behold. While the odds and bets might be more in favor of 'The Diamond' Poirier, the confidence and skills of Gaethje can't be underestimated.
