Pique and Shakira were one of the most celebrated couples in the soccer industry. Their chemistry and bond made their relationship look promising.
However, their relationship had a disastrous end courtesy of Pique's naivety, as the former Barcelona defender was caught cheating on Shakira.
Shakira couldn't digest the whole situation and decided to break up and move to Miami with her children, and the Barcelona court obliged.
The Waka Waka singer didn't hold back and retaliated with a song that dissed Gerard Pique and reminded the soccer athlete that he had made a huge mistake by choosing Clara over Shakira.
However, Pique replied to the allegations by just showing off his Casio watch. In fact, the former Barcelona star didn't even mention Shakira in any of the interviews post-breakup except the interview with John Nellis.
During the Interview, John asked Gerard, "who was the most famous person in his phonebook." To which Pique replied, "I would say... Shakira, who was my partner."
Pique's reply generated immense feedback, and the most warm response was from a reporter named Cristina Tarrega.
Cristina said, "I think what he(Pique) has done is very elegant because I know that he has contacts worldwide, perhaps much more famous, but he gave her that place."
