WWE on Friday announced that the "Fight Pit" match between Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins at Extreme Rules will have MMA star Daniel Cormier as the special guest referee.

The news was first reported by MMA and Pro wrestling Journalist Ariel Helwani on Twitter and WWE then confirmed it through an official announcement on their website.

Cormier who is a former NCAA and UFC champion has been in talks with the WWE in the past as there were several rumors linking him to a move to the pro wrestling giants.

MMA fans and WWE fans are equally excited to see Cormier in a WWE ring but after a recent video emerged, fans doubt whether Cormier will be biased while officiating the Fight Pit match.

The video shows Cormier and his friends celebrating Seth Rollins' cashing in the money in the bank briefcase and winning the WWE championship in the main event of Wrestlemania back in 2015.

Fans are now fearing that Cormier might turn heel on Matt Riddle during the match and help Rollins pick up the win at the premium live event.

The WWE are yet to acknowledge the video that's going around on social media but hopefully, they will mention this on this week's go-home episode of Monday Night Raw.

Whether DC will be staying with the company after the Extreme Rules event is unclear but having such a big star like Cormier on the WWE roster for a longer period could benefit both parties.
