Dana White Forced to Cancel UFC 279 Main Event, Diaz vs Ferguson Official

All hell broke lose after Khamzat Chimaev failed to make weight for his main event fight with Nate Diaz at UFC 279. Chimaev weighed in at 178.5 lbs.

UFC was forced to cancel the UFC 279 main event after Nate Diaz decided not to fight Khamzat Chimaev. Since then fans have received multiple shocking news from Dana White.

UFC 279 has now three new matchups on the main card including an exciting 5 round main event between Nate Diaz and Tony Ferguson.

Besides that, Khamzat Chimaev now takes on Kevin Holland, with whom he had a huge brawl before the UFC 279 press conference.

Despite a weight disadvantage, Li Jingliang, who was originally scheduled to fight Tony Ferguson, accepted to fight Daniel Rodriguez in the featured fight of UFC 279.

It's hard to argue against the notion that Diaz vs Ferguson is a much more exciting main event compared to Diaz vs Chimaev.

Two legends and veterans of the sports will battle it out in one of the biggest cards of the year. And this will likely be the final UFC fight for Nate Diaz.
