According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo got scammed by a travel agent for approximately $300,000 after getting his contract terminated at Manchester United.
As per the reports, the alleged scammer made a deal with Ronaldo, providing him with exquisite cars and private jets that lured him into crediting such a hefty amount.
The scammer goes by the name Maria Silva and it is believed that Ronaldo isn't the only Portuguese to be scammed by her.
Nani and Jorge Mendes were also subject to a similar scam by the same duper, and as per the investigation, Maria would deceive all these clients by asking them to transfer money into her bank account.
However, justice prevailed in 2021, as Maria Silva was acquitted of the scam by a public court in Porto and got 4 years of jail time as a punishment.
