The most well-known NBA player in the previous two decades is LeBron James. He is still going strong in his 20th season, producing mind-blowing figures. However, Tom Brady, the NFL star has also shown great athleticism for almost two decades.
Back in 2022, when Ronaldo still played for Manchester United, he was asked to comment on Tom Brady and LeBron James. Unexpectedly, Ronaldo undermined the two popular sports stars.
In a 2022 interview with ESPN, Ronaldo talked about how he could perform to such a greater extent even at such a late point in his career. At the time of the interview, Ronaldo was the leading scorer for the club, and he was also one month away from turning 37.
Later, the conversation turned to other athletes who had demonstrated a similar ability to defy their age. LeBron James and Tom Brady were undoubtedly among the names mentioned. Superstars in the NBA and NFL have also continued to perform at a high level despite their ages.
Cristiano Ronaldo believed that football was more rigorous and strenuous than the NFL and NBA. As per Ronaldo’s claims, the differences in sports are not taken into account.
Ronaldo said in his remarks: “I think a very important point is the difference between sports. You mentioned some excellent athletes who have already been active for many years..”
He continued: “In my opinion, there is no other sport that has as much workload as football. The NBA, for example, has long rest periods, but I don’t want to expand on that.”
Similar to how there is such a big contrast between basketball and European football, to say that they are not as demanding as European football is a bit haughty.
