The 2022 FIFA world cup has been regarded as one of the best editions of the world cup for its twists and turns. Few Nations have been on cloud 9 while few have had severe heartbreaks.
This Tournament was also named the LAST DANCE by fans for players like Ronaldo, Suarez, Messi, Neymar, Modric, etc. Amongst all the names mentioned only Messi and Modric have been able to survive till now in this tournament.
And as expected, Cristiano, Suarez, and Neymar were in tears after their exit from their potentially last world cup. However, fans alleged Ronaldo of fake crying and stated that it was all acting from the veteran.
Instead of sympathizing with the Portugese No. 7, fans questioned his emotions and claimed that the world cup exit didn't matter to Ronaldo at all.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo was also framed for being money oriented, A Twitter account named 7th rejection d’or tweeted, "Blud thinking about $200 million in front of him without doing anything".
A large fraction of the Footballing fraternity came in support of Ronaldo. Many football pundits also believe that the fans have been very harsh and insensitive toward Ronaldo.
Ronaldo after the defeat wrote a heartfelt message on instagram which mainly revolved around his dedication towards his nation and that he did everything he could to win the world cup and wrote a quote," The Dream was beautiful while it lasted".
While there has been no official confirmation by Ronaldo on his future as the Portuguese player, Many fans and experts feel that it is the end of the journey for Ronaldo as the Portugal national player and he will retire in the near future.
