'The Notorious' is not specifically known for his trash talk, but he is known for bringing someone down when he feels disrespectful. And this time at the receiving end was Charles Oliveira.
The duo were rumored to fight in the past, but the fight never became a reality as Conor went on a hiatus after his leg got injured during the UFC 294 fight against Dustin Poirier.
Conor McGregor hasn't fought anyone since then. although he has made an appearance as the Coach at TUF 31 against Michael Chandler, with whom he has been rumored to be fighting for a long time now.
But talking about recent times, Conor has shown interest in fighting someone other than Chandler. He recently called out Justin Gaethje, the winner of the BMF title at UFC 291, which Gaethje agreed to.
Continuing his enthusiasm, Conor posted a tweet on Tuesday saying ,"Fighting is MOTIVATION!" This somehow tickled Oliviera, and he commented, "Lol you're without motivation more than 2 years."
This triggered Conor and he was quick to put Oliveira back in his place. "Recovering from a leg break, you nobody. You are nobody now, again. Get off that Lamborghini you broke bum."
Conor referred to Oliveira's failure to defend his lightweight championship against Islam Makhachev at UFC 280. Although Oliveira will now have a chance to win back the belt at UFC 294 in a rematch.
Conor is still caught up with the USADA testing pool formalities, which makes one thing clear: Conor won't be fighting till 2024. That has given Conor more time to select his next opponent.
