Former Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes made history on Saturday by winning the 30-man Royal Rumble match. He earned a future World title match at WrestleMania 39 after his win.

The American Nightmare who was out of action since last July due to a torn pectoral muscle made his return to the ring after entering in the 30th spot in the Rumble.

The former AEW TNT Champion was able to confirm his spot in the main event of Wrestlemania by eliminating the current Intercontinental Champion Gunther.

One interesting thing that many fans noticed following Rhodes' win was the hand gestures that he did as he was seen paying tribute to his AEW friends Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.

Rhodes at first made the "too sweet" gesture which is famously used by Matt and Nick during their time in the Bullet Club. He then paid tribute to Omega by using his trademark gunshot gesture.

The Young Bucks then reacted to the shoutout from Rhodes by posting the "gunshot" and the "too sweet" emojis on their Twitter bio.

Rhodes after the event said that he wanted to make things special and that was the reason why he used the gestures after achieving one of the greatest accomplishments in his career.
