The Rock's WWE return has been one of the biggest talking points in pro wrestling as many expected the Hollywood megastar to return and face his cousin Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania in April.
The rumors of the Great One's return were shot down after Dave Meltzer reported that the WWE legend won't be able to get in ring shape before the deadline for WrestleMania 39.
After The Rock failed to show up, WWE found the next challenger for Roman Reigns as Cody Rhodes was picked to main event Wrestlemania after winning the Royal Rumble match.
Rhodes in a recent interview with Alex McCarthy of The Daily Mail addressed the rumors of The Rock potentially returning to the WWE to face Roman Reigns and he had an interesting response.
“With all the respect in the world to one of the GOATs, The Rock, it looks like the options we have here within the roster are even better because of the stories that are happening." He said.
Cody Rhodes will have to wait till Elimination Chamber PLE to know which superstar he will be facing in the main event of Wrestlemania 39 as Reigns has a title defense on the show.
Roman Reigns will be defending his WWE Undisputed Universal Championship against Sami Zayn at the Elimination Chamber PLE from his hometown of Montreal.
It'll be interesting to see what creative decisions will Triple H take regarding the WWE Undisputed title heading into Wrestlemania. Some feel that Zayn will defeat Reigns at the chamber.
