“Deserves a Slap”- Vinicius Junior Criticized Amid Racism Controversy

Barcelona Board of Directors' deputy spokesperson, Mikel Camps, recently criticized Real Madrid's Brazilian winger Vinícius Júnior on his racism complaint.

During the recent La Liga 1-1 draw between Sevilla and Real Madrid, at least two Sevilla supporters, including one child, were caught on camera making monkey gestures towards Vinícius.

Vinícius has been playing for Real Madrid senior since 2018. Last few years, he has been severely targeted for racism on the field.

After the recent incident in Sevilla, Barca spokesperson Mikel Camps called Vinícius a clown and said he deserved a slap for claiming himself as the racism victim.

Camps wrote on his X, "It's not racism, he [Vinicius] deserves a slap for being a clown. What do these unnecessary and meaningless stepovers represent in the center of the field?"

Although that post was deleted, several media outlets already observed that shocking social media post and reported that soon.

Another Brazilian and Real Madrid star Rodrigo slammed Camps by saying, "I don't know if I can speak, they always encourage us not to speak, but it's pathetic. There's not much to say, very ugly."

In the 2022/23 season, some Valencia fans brought monkey chants for Vinícius. Last May, four people were arrested for hanging Vinícius' effigy from a bridge.
