WWE NXT superstar Grayson Waller has been suspended from WWE for a week after he interrupted the post-show media call hosted by Shawn Michaels following a premium event.
WWE NXT hosted NXT Vengeance Day, headlined by the championship title match between Grayson Waller and Bron Breakker in a Steel Cage Match.
Bron captured the gold and successfully defended the title, becoming the second-longest reigning NXT Champion in the title's history.
However, frustrated by the loss, Grayson interrupted WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels during his post-show media call and asked why he was not treated like the brand's top star.
"Are we going to talk about it? Let me ask you a question: why am I not the guy?" he questioned Michaels. "Talk to me now. Do you want me to take a photo? Do your pose? Do you want me to be a fan of yours? Is that how I get to be your guy?" he continued.
Before causing any more trouble, Performance Center coach Matt Bloom escorted Waller out of the room. This was followed by the one-week suspension notice handed to Waller.
However, Grayson confirmed that his suspension had nothing to do with the backstage incident, as he twitted, "Definitely has nothing to do with what I said to him at gorilla or my tweet earlier".
It will be interesting to see whether Grayson will return to the NXT roster next week and whether HBK will provide him with an opportunity to fight for the championship title.
