Arnold had recently appeared as a guest on Nick Miller's YouTube channel, ' Nick's strength and power' . Nick and Arnold started the show by analyzing the results of Mr Olympia 2022.
Nick asked Arnold who he considers the GOAT of bodybuilding, to which Arnold replied ,"Well yeah, that's a decision that has to be made by the fans. I am not here to say 'the greatest' and all that stuff ... They think I am the greatest of all time ... great, but I just know that there were teriffic bodybuilders. I still think Steve Reeves was the greatest of all time."
Arnold Schwarzenegger is considered the GOAT of bodybuilding by many in the sport. But to Arnold , Stephen Lester 'Steve' Reeves an American bodybuilder who dominated the game during his time , is the GOAT.
Arnold further described how every one has their own GOAT , and the debate is for the fans to settle. Arnold said , "I think everyone will have a different opinion on that. For instance Lee Haney when he came up in the 80s, and he started winning one Mr. Olympia after the next ... He was a great story.".
Lee Haney won Mr. Olympia 8 times in a row. His reign is considered the best in sports alongside the legendary figure Ronnie Coleman. Arnold further described Haney as a great man because of the amount of charity he did and thus he considers Haney a great representative of the sport.
Arnold also shared his views on how body builders from the 70's shouldn't be considered to the present day ones, because the equipments, the nutrition, the lightings, the medication, the training everything is different. The methods are more advanced and developed nowadays.
Indeed sports science has come a long way and developed a lot compared to Arnold Schwarzenegger's bodybuilding days. Arnold further said he believes everyone should focus on the betterment of the sport.
