The year 2022 was very contrasting for the likes of Ronaldo and Messi as the former propelled Argentina to their 3rd world cup while the latter made news for all the wrong reasons.

Ronaldo had to leave Man Utd following his controversial interview with Piers Morgan where he accused Erik ten hag of being disrespectful towards him.

After his Man Utd. exit the fans pondered over the Portuguese No.7's future and whether any club wanted him despite knowing the fact that he might not play longer as he 37.

A Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr showed their interest in Ronaldo and offered him a hefty amount to which Cristiano initially seemed uninterested

However, Ronaldo with no options left agreed to a mammoth $214 million deal for 2.5 years with Al-Nassr leaving behind Neymar-PSG's signing to become the most expensive signing of all time.

Rudi Garcia who is currently the head coach of Al-Nassr is very excited to work with Ronaldo however in an interview he made a shocking revelation that involves Messi.

In a press conference, Rudi Garcia said, "I wanted to bring Messi from Doha." which suggests that he is a big fan of Lionel Messi and that his top priority was Messi and not Ronaldo.

Netizens mocked Ronaldo for his decision to play for Al-Nassr and accused him of being greedy. However Cristiano has made it clear that he wants to win big trophies that include the champions league for Al-Nassr.
