After Beating Triple H, John Cena Hasn't Won in Last 5 Years

On the most recent WWE RAW broadcast, the 16-time world champion made a significant comeback and engaged in a battle with Austin Theory. The two were scheduled for a match at WrestleMania 39.

At the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble 2018 event in Saudi Arabia, Cena last won a singles battle in a WWE event. He defeated WWE legend Triple H that evening.

Cena has only wrestled in two singles contests on WWE programming since defeating Triple H. He initially lost a Firefly Fun House battle to The Fiend at WrestleMania 36 in 2020.

At Summer Slam 2021, Cena loses to Roman Reigns in a battle for the Universal Championship. It was a big event since Cena was returning from Hollywood hoping to win his 17th world championship.

However, it may sound strange, but Cena hasn't won a singles match in the WWE in almost five years. It would be his first singles victory in WWE in five years if he defeats Theory.

The US Champion has wanted a matchup with the former World Champion for a long time now. He said he would like to defeat Cena and win the biggest victory of his wrestling career in The Show of Shows.

In an interview, Austin said, "I'm 25 and I'm excelling at such a fast rate that people can see it, How many championships did John Cena have at 24? I was the US Champion at 24."

Fans of Cena will have to wait for his first singles victory in years if Theory is ultimately defeated at WrestleMania. It would be unlikely if the 16-time world champion lost at the big event.
