Michael Jordan is always considered one of the best basketball players. He has achieved 6 NBA titles, 11 All-NBA selections, 3 All-Star MVPs, 6 Finals MVPs, 1 Defensive Player of the Year award, 10 scoring titles, 14 All-Star selections, and Rookie of the Year honours.

After receiving so many trophies in his career, he is going to become the trophy this time. NBA has come up with a new trophy named the Michael Jordan Trophy which will be given to the Most Valuable Player of the NBA's regular season.

The new trophy is a tribute to Jordan in multiple ways and stands for a player's journey to attain MVP status. Mark Smith, the Jordan brand designer worked in collaboration with Jordan to design the precious trophy.

The trophy is a bronze figure, who is breaking himself free from a rock and finally holding a crystal basketball high in the air. If the trophy is observed from bottom to top, it is seen to be more polished as it goes upward.

The entire trophy is an allusion to the hard work that led to the rise of Michael Jordan from rookie to MVP.

The trophy is 23.6 inches tall, alluding to Jordan's jersey number 23 and 6 NBA championships. The number 23 also pops up on the crystal ball, and the diameter of the shiny ball is 1.23 inches.

The base of the trophy has 5 sides, reflecting Jordan's 5 MVP awards; the base badge with 6 sides represents Jordan's 6 titles; and the base angle is 15 degrees approx. representing the 15 NBA seasons Jordan played.

Ultimately Jordan who is considered to be one of the basketball stars will be synonymous with the league's prestigious honour, named Michael Jordan Trophy.
