This week's edition of Monday Night RAW saw the surprise return of a former Women's Champion as the "Princess of Staten Island" Carmella showed up in a backstage segment.

Carmella announced her return to the company in the backstage segment but was interrupted by Asuka who returned at the women's Royal Rumble match last week.

Asuka with her new gimmick was able to intimidate Carmella after a blue liquid-like substance was seen dripping from her mouth. This forced Mella to retreat and end the segment.

Carmella was out of action for a while due to an injury that she suffered during a live event in August last year. Her last televised WWE match was against Bianca Belair on an episode of RAW in July.

The former Money in the Bank winner recently had gone through a personal tragedy as Carmella and her husband Corey Graves announced that she suffered a miscarriage last year.

Carmella is now set to compete in a fatal four-way match next week to qualify for the women's elimination chamber match to earn a shot at Bianca Belair's Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania 39.

She will be facing Candice LeRae, Michin, and Piper Niven to qualify for the match. Raquel Rodriguez, Liv Morgan, Nikki Cross, and Asuka have already earned their qualification.

Fans are now waiting to see how Triple H will book Carmella moving forward. Some even felt that the former champion needs a character repackage after her return.
