31-Year-Old UFC Prospect Damir Ismagulov Forced to Retire From MMA

UFC fans start 2023 with disappointing news as lightweight prospect Damir Ismagulov has retired from MMA.

Damir Ismagulov had 6 fights in UFC with 5 wins. He has wins over Thiago Moises, Rafael Alves and Guram Kutateladze.

Damir Ismagulov fought Arman Tsarukyan in his last fight on December 17th and lost the fight via unanimous decision.

Weeks after his first UFC loss, the Russian UFC lightweight announced retirement on social media citing health reasons.

"Unfortunately, due to circumstances and health problems, I am forced to end my sports career."- Ismagulov stated.

"Thanks to all those who were with me regardless of the outcome in the battles, who were sincerely sick and worried."- The Russian lightweight continued.

Damir Ismagulov has a MMA record of 24 wins and 2 losses and he is 31 years old. He made his pro MMA debut back in 2014.

It's needless to say that the world of mixed martial arts was shocked with Ismagulov's retirement announcement.
