SUMMARY
- WWE started Backlash with a bang, as The Bloodline defeated Kevin Owens and Randy Orton after a spectacular tag-team match on the PLE.
- But fans seem to be disappointed with the ending of the match, as they expected Jacob Fatu to make his debut.
WWE started Backlash with a blast as Randy Orton and Kevin Owens took on The Bloodline, in the form of Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga to kick off the PLE in France. While the buildup of this rivalry was done exceptionally well by the company, Nick Aldis made things more interesting for the crowd in LDLC Arena.
Even before the match had started, the participants of the tag match started a brawl and even took out security, and that’s when SmackDown’s General Manager made his way to the arena. After coming out, Aldis announced that the bout would now be a “Street Fight” match, and this stipulation was arguably everything the fans wanted to witness.

Amid the new rules of the match, all the competitors started using weapons, as the baby faces initially took control over The Bloodline. In fact, for the first few minutes, it looked like there was going to be one-way traffic throughout this bout, but the heels were quick to turn things around. The Bloodline used their heelish tactics to go one step ahead of the team of The Viper and The Prizefighter.
While the in-ring action kept everyone on the edge of their seats, the audience’s enthusiasm made this encounter truly memorable. From Randy’s iconic RKO’s, to Kevin Owens’ hard-hitting move, the face team did everything in their power to take out their opponents. But as Kevin was about to pin Tama after delivering Brainbuster through the chair, something unexpected happened on the show.

Tama Tonga’s brother, Tanga Loa, appeared out of nowhere and dragged the referee outside of the ring to save his family. This interference also allowed Solo Sikoa to hit a Samoan Spike, as The Bloodline got a memorable win to stand tall after the bout. But the fans aren’t too happy with the ending of this match.
Fans aren’t happy with The Bloodline’s victory at WWE Backlash
As soon as the match ended, fans took to social media to share their reactions to The Bloodline’s victory at WWE Backlash and to the debut of Tanga Loa. Sharing their disappointment over by stating that they weren’t expecting this guy to show up, an audience member wrote, “We wanted Jacob Fatu not this guy.” (Via: X)
Claiming that this match has extended the storyline of this family faction, a professional wrestling enthusiast said, “The bloodline story isn’t over.” “ Wanted Jacob Fatu lol 😭😭 WTH is Tanga Lao,” another member of the WWE Universe commented while talking about the insane tag team match on the PLE.
Looking at these comments, it’s clear that fans expected Fatu to show up in France, and him not appearing has left them highly disappointed. With this brand new addition to the stable, it remains to be seen how Solo handles The Bloodline as its leader and also if they can now take over the Triple H-led promotion.
