Jorge Masvidal was a curtain jerker a few years ago in UFC who had a ton of potential and MMA experience. However, he was not a global superstar that he is now.
Ever since his sensational knockouts against Darren Till and Ben Askren, Jorge Masvidal has become one of the biggest stars in UFC. Masvidal made history when he beat Nate Diaz for the BMF title in a historic event at Madison Square Garden. And now he takes on Kamaru Usman in an anticipated rematch.
Jorge Masvidal vs Kamaru Usman is the main event of UFC 261 that takes place in Jacksonville, Florida. It’s going to be a historic night for UFC as it welcomes the fans to the arena for the first time since the COVID outbreak. And The Gamebred had a grand entrance to being his fight week for UFC 261.
Jorge Masvidal showed up in a private jet with his teammates in Jacksonville. Masvidal also recalled his harrowing journey to fame from not being able to buy a cheeseburger. Masvidal stated:
We just got to Jacksonville, the whole team is here. Another fight week, another day, another dollar. Nothing has changed. I get this all, they give it to me now. I don’t even gotta pay for it. It was crazy when I couldn’t afford a cheeseburger. When nobody gave me s**t. And now I’m getting all these hookups, you know. I wanna thank a lot of people. Especially I wanna thank god. And I want you to know everybody watching, ain’t s**t change.
Jorge Masvidal promises violence
Jorge Masvidal also sent a message to his fans about the upcoming title fight with Kamaru Usman. Masvidal promised violence to the fans and said: “Don’t miss the fight. It’s gonna be violent.”
Though Jorge Masvidal is an underdog against Kamaru Usman he is a huge threat in the early rounds. Masvidal can cause a huge upset and knock out Usman in the first round. However, it is easier said than done as Usman has improved his striking significantly since the first fight with Masvidal.
