Vonnie B’VSean Miller, more popularly known as Von Miller, is a linebacker who plays for the National Football League NFL team, the Buffalo Bills. He played college football for the Texas A&M Aggies (Texas A&M University). Miller was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft as the 2nd overall pick.
Miller had a fantastic college career with the Texas A&M Aggies and started impressing in his freshman season. He won the Freshman All-Big 12 after recording 22 assisted tackles and 10 solo tackles. The following season, he recorded 44 tackles, which included 25 solo attempts along with 3.5 sacks and 7.5 tackles for loss, and forced two fumbles.
Miller really came to the forefront during his junior season after being named first-team All-American. In his senior year, he won a huge number of awards, including consensus first-team All-American. Moreover, he won the Butkus Award from the Downtown Athletic Club of Orlando, which is given to the best college linebacker of the season.
After such stellar performances, it was no surprise that he was selected 2nd overall in the 2011 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. He received a mammoth rookie contract from them worth $21,000,380 for four years. It included a signing bonus of $13,773,004 and an average annual salary of $5,250,095.
Von Miller received a huge contract extension from the Denver Broncos after his successful four years with them. The Broncos gave him a six-year deal worth $114,100,000, out of which $70,000,000 was guaranteed pay. He received a signing bonus of $17,000,000 and an average annual salary of $19,016,667.
Buffalo Bills could ensure salary cap savings if Von Miller is suspended
Von Miller has been accused of physically assaulting his pregnant girlfriend. He has a warrant issued under his name for a third-degree felony. This could pan out in a beneficial way for the Buffalo Bills from a financial standpoint, as they will be saving a major salary cap. However, all of this would depend on how the NFL takes action against Von Miller.

Jay Skurski, who is a reporter for the Buffalo News, said that if the NFL does suspend Von Miller, the Buffalo Bills could avoid paying the remaining guarantees. This will include Miller’s base salary for 2024, which is worth $17.145 million. If this is done before the start of the next season, it would mean a big amount of salary cap savings for the Buffalo Bills.
“If Miller is suspended by the NFL for violating the terms of the personal conduct policy, the Bills could then void the remaining guarantees in his contract, which include his $17.145 million base salary for 2024,” Skurski said. “If that happens before the start of next season, the #Bills would see a significant salary cap savings.”
Von Miller’s current contract, as per Spotrac with the Buffalo Bills, is worth $120,000,000 and has a signing bonus of $18,525,000. His total guaranteed amount from the contract is $51,435,000. Miller’s net worth in 2023 is $60 million.
