Just hours after clearing out his locker, the Los Angeles Angels star was spotted arriving at the Japan airport. This leaves the fans wondering about the future of Los Angeles Angels.

It all started when Shohei Ohtani sustained an injury when the Angels lost 11-2 to the Detroit Tigers. He missed 11 consecutive games this season as his oblique muscle injury restricted him from pitching.

Ohtani’s contract is expected to end this Fall which would make him the most sought-after free agent of the league. He was spotted before the 11th game but later his locker was found to be largely emptied. From his personal belongings to the fully packed bag with the logo from the 2023 All-Star Game, nearly everything was gone.

When the media covered the news, the spokesperson of the Angels ensured that the team would probably give out information as soon as they discovered something.

Is Shohei Ohtani leaving the Los Angeles Angels team?

After spending six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, Shohei Ohtani would become a free agent as his contract will end this Fall. This gives everyone a chance to speculate that they increased more after the Angels plunged out of the playoff race last month in August.

However, the MLB prodigy remains silent on the matter. He was already shut down this season because of his injury, still, the Angels hope that Ohtani would return as a hitter after weakening his oblique in the batting practice.

It’s quite unclear where Ohtani would go if he left L.A. But the Journalist Pete Gammons with experience in covering baseball for 50 years states that Ohtani might be heading toward Boston soon. According to him, Boston is known to be one of the biggest markets in the country, where the most successful franchise in MLB, the Red Sox also appears.

He shared a post on his X account, saying “N.L. Though Ohtani has claimed that he would stay with the Angels most probably. But he bid goodbye this week and left for his country under unexpected events. Fans believe that the two-way star has gone to his country to recover and get ready for the next season.
