With an unbeaten record in the 200m race, American sprinter Noah Lyles earned another gold on Tuesday as he gave a bright finish to the scandalous day. He won his first world title by finishing the line in a remarkable time of 19.83 seconds.
The Rio Olympic silver medalist, Andre De Grasse, from Canada, finished second with 19.95 seconds, and Alex Quiñónez, from Ecuador, earned bronze with a record time of 19.98 seconds.

Despite the drug controversy that began with renowned American coach Alberto Salazar, Lyles did not get distracted from his goal. Started out from behind but paved his way into the lead through the corner, Lyles gave a remarkable finish.
“I don’t know how many people come to their first world championships and get a gold medal but I have done it. I just knew that no matter what position I found myself in, I would find a way to come through,” he said.
Noah Lyles has often been compared to track and field legend Usain Bolt. He is, in fact, referred to as the ‘next Usain Bolt.’ As he has shown multiple times with his dominating and entertaining performances, he is the man who would take over from the legend, Usain Bolt. However, Lyles pleaded that they don’t call him the new Usain Bolt. “I’m me…If you like me I will happily entertain you..It’s my time,” he added.
Retired Usain Bolt claimed to win the Tokyo Olympic Games
After watching the Tokyo Olympics, sprint legend Usain Bolt claimed that he could have won the men’s 100m race at the 2020 Olympics in 2021, bringing in his fourth straight Olympic gold medal. He said that the winning time was within his reach, and if he had emerged out of retirement, the title would have gone to him.
In an interview with AFP, Bolt shared his frustration with watching the 2020 Olympic games from his residence in Jamaica. He got frustrated seeing his male countrymen fall flat, and the victory shockingly went to Lamont Jacobs from Italy.

“I really missed it. I was like, I wish I was there,” he told his sponsor PepsiCo later in 2021. “Because for me, I live for those moments. So it was hard to watch,” he further added.
For a whole generation, Usain Bolt has dominated sprinting and won eight Olympic gold medals. He lost the ninth because of a mistake by his 4×100 relay teammate Nesta Carter, who failed the retrospective drugs test.
