For some context, Ruzicka allegedly posted a video on his Instagram story with cocaine recently. In that video, the Slovakian player could be seen with a pipe in his mouth, after showing some cocaine and a card in the Instagram story. This ultimately landed him in quite some trouble, as the Coyotes took some strict action.
Arizona Coyotes cut Adam Ruzicka from NHL roster after viral cocaine video
Ruzicka recently signed for the Arizona Coyotes after spending three seasons with the Calgary Flames. He has only played three games for the Coyotes so far in the 2023-24 NHL season. Ruzicka has failed to register a goal, assist, or even a point in these three games. But it looks like the recent video was enough for the Coyotes to cut him, more than his underwhelming performances.
The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Adam Ruzicka on unconditional waivers for purposes of terminating his contract. The Club will have no further comment at this time.

The Coyotes sent an official statement on X, which mentioned, “The Arizona Coyotes have placed forward Adam Ruzicka on unconditional waivers for purposes of terminating his contract. The Club will have no further comment at this time.” It certainly looks like the player’s time with the team may well and truly be over.
Ruzicka goes off the grid following heavy backlash
After the video went viral, NHL fans were quick to troll the player for pulling off such a questionable stunt, let alone post on social media for thousands of people to see. Some even predicted that his contract with the Coyotes would eventually be terminated.

Since being cut from the team, Ruzicka has now deleted the story and has also deactivated his Instagram account. It certainly looks like it will be some time before the star delivers a public statement. The NHLPA is yet to release a statement as well.
