Joe Rogan and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson are not people you would call best buddies. However, during their appearance on Rogan’s podcast, they had long discussions over several topics and the pair did not look like they had any issues. Surprisingly, the pair have had several issues in the past.
Chael Sonnen pointed out the pair’s awkwardness in a YouTube video after JRE #2063 was released. Sonnen claimed it was a fake Rogan and Johnson that appeared on the podcast as they never discussed their accusations against each other.
During the pandemic, Rogan and Spotify were being slammed for allegedly spreading misinformation. Several artists removed their music from Spotify and there were protests being staged by medical professionals. However, Johnson had shown support to Rogan at the time.
Later, Rogan was embroiled in another controversy. Singer-songwriter India Arie posted a compilation video of Rogan using racially inappropriate language. He had used the N-word on his podcast almost over 20 times.
“I can’t go back in time and change what I said. I wish I could. Obviously that’s not possible, but I do hope this could be a teachable moment for anybody that doesn’t realise how offensive that word could be coming out of a white person’s mouth, in context or out of context,” Rogan said in a video statement, according to The Guardian.
On the other hand, Johnson was slammed by fans for supporting Rogan in the previous controversy. This time, he had to back out. Johnson wrote, “I hear you, as well as everyone here 100%[.] I was not aware of his N-word use prior to my comments, but now I’ve become educated to his complete narrative. Learning moment for me.”
Months later, Rogan levied heavy accusations on Johnson’s head. The UFC commentator openly alleged that Johnson consumed steroids.
Joe Rogan accused Dwayne Johnson of consuming steroids and asked him to come clean
Johnson backtracked his support for Rogan early in 2022. Rogan, on the other hand, accused Johnson of consuming steroids in December 2022. As reported by the New York Post, during an episode of JRE, Rogan claimed Johnson’s physique is not natural. He asked him to come clean to the world.
“There’s no way you can look like that, in your 40s,” chided Rogan. “The Rock should come clean right now.”
Johnson was compared to the Liver King by Rogan. Liver King, real name Brian Johnson, is an infamous fitness influencer. He used to promote a healthy lifestyle and amassed a huge following. However, he later revealed that he was consuming steroids to maintain his physique.
UFC veteran Sonnen also attacked The Rock regarding this matter. He called out The Rock for denying the use of steroids just like his father and grandfather.
