Jamie Vernon, known to JRE fans as Young Jamie, is the producer of the Joe Rogan Experience Podcast. The podcast, hosted by UFC color commentator, Joe Rogan, is the world’s most-watched podcast. The JRE reportedly amasses an average audience of 11 million people per episode. And Jamie is a crucial member of the podcast’s crew.
Vernon is responsible for a number of essential elements of the podcast as its producer. Namely, Jamie handles all the sound, camera, and recording logistics surrounding the Joe Rogan Experience. However, something newer fans of the JRE may not be aware of is the fact that Jamie hasn’t been around since the start of the podcast.

In 2009, when Joe first got into podcasting, his producer was Brian Redban. It was only 4 years later, in 2013 that Rogan hired Jamie to take over producing for the show. After Jamie joined, the JRE saw an exponential improvement in quality. Moreover, Jamie is a staunch professional. hardly deviating from the topic at hand and always adding interesting nuggets of information.
Fans were very impressed by Young Jamie for the improvements he made to the podcast after joining. As for Jamie, he has one of the best jobs in the world. Though it probably does come with its own trials and tribulations, meeting the biggest celebrities and personalities in the world doesn’t sound too bad.
Why did Joe Rogan fire his earlier producer, Brian Redban?
The Joe Rogan Experience first aired on Christmas Eve in 2009. The first episode reached only 350 viewers with Joe and Redban referring to it as a “live stream”. It didn’t look like a juggernaut whose rights Spotify purchased for around $200 million. But one of the most instrumental changes the standup comedian made to his podcast was to replace Brian Redban with Jamie Vernon. But what made Joe Rogan do this?
Four years after starting his podcast, the UFC commentator let go of his producer Brian Redban. The reason cited by Joe was Redban’s lack of technical knowledge which caused problems during streams. Redban’s inability to co-host and efficiently communicate with guests also influenced Joe’s decision. This became a recurring instance in JRE episodes at the time.
Redban also didn’t add anything meaningful when the ideologies and personalities of the guests got more diverse. Joe Rogan said that this factored into his decision to replace Brian. Nevertheless, it seems the former Fear Factor host made the right call back in 2013. After all, the Joe Rogan Experience is now the world’s biggest podcast with Joe and Jamie regularly conversing with A-list celebrities.
How much does Young Jamie earn through his production job for JRE?
According to updated reports from various websites, Young Jamie surely bags over $125,000 annually. However, exactly how much is unknown. According to TheThings, Jamie’s salary is something between $125,000 to $150,000 annually. The same is corroborated by Celebrity.
