Joe Rogan expressed disappointment at a rule due to which Arnold Schwarzenegger cannot run for US president. Rogan, who has been a fan of the former bodybuilder, opened up about how he believes Schwarzenegger’s birthplace should not have anything to do with his ability to run for president. The UFC color commentator argued that Schwarzenegger has lived in America and is also a citizen.
On Rogan’s podcast, JRE #2072, the 56-year-old was joined by stand-up comic Stavros Halkias. The conversation between the pair took a turn toward Schwarzenegger’s inability to run for President.
Rogan said, “Isn’t that what the real fear about someone like Arnold [Schwarzenegger] running for office? They would say oh he’s not born here but how nutty is that? You have to be born here? The f*cking guys’ been here most of his life but even though he’s a citizen since his mother didn’t have him come out of her body on this soil, it doesn’t count?”
According to the BBC, “The US constitution states that anyone holding that office [POTUS] must be a natural-born citizen. Schwarzenegger hails from Thal, Austria, where he lived until the age of 19.”
However, Schwarzenegger showed no remorse regarding the rule. Although he believes he would be a great president, he said he owes everything to America.

“I feel like I would make a great president,” he said. “But I feel that, at the same time, everything I’ve accomplished was because of America… So the only thing that I can’t do, which is run for president, I’m not going to complain about that.”
Rogan has a long history of talking politics on his podcast. He had several such conversations with his guests during the run-up to the 2020 Presidential elections as well.
Joe Rogan and Tom Dillon discuss about Bernie Sanders’ inability to win the 2020 US Presidential elections
Rogan agreed and and continued sarcastically, “Plus he has like two houses.”
Further, Dillon said, “He’s worth like $300,000, that offends people… In a country, by the way, where people make that in an hour on YouTube”
Sanders had unsuccessfully run for the 2016 Democratic presidential primaries. In February 2019, it was announced that he was running for the post of POTUS. Just over a year later, in April 2020, Sanders suspended his campaign. It was Joe Biden who ultimately became the 46th President of the United States.
