On the JRE podcast, host Joe Rogan talked about setting an example out of Trevor Jacobs, the YouTuber that crashed a plane for views on YouTube. Rogan had American actor Duncan Trussell as a guest on the Joe Rogan Experience episode #2009 where they had a conversation about Jacobs.
The conversation began with the two men talking about how far people go to grab the attention of the public. The example of Jacobs is a prime one in this category. Jacobs is a YouTuber who jumped out of a plane before crashing it and posted the video of it on YouTube. He did the act in late 2021 and implied it was an accident. However, after investigations were underway, he admitted to crashing the plane for views in May 2023.
Trussell said, “It’s such a complex way to get YouTube views.”
Rogan responded, “It worked though but now he’s gonna go to jail.”
Trussell agreed and added that it would be for a long time. However, Rogan’s team informed that Jacobs is facing 20 years in prison. To this, Rogan replied, “Holy sh*t! 20 years for a stupid YouTube stuff.”
Trussell agreed with what Jacobs was facing, “I mean we do need strict penalties for sure for to keep people from just just like dropping planes out of the sky on us.”
Rogan then claimed that an example should be set out of Jacobs. No one should attempt something of the sort again. He said, “Yeah, yeah, you got to set an example for a guy like that.”
Jacobs is an extreme sports athlete and has even represented the USA in snowboarding in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Joe Rogan believes Trevor Jacobs could have become a mass murderer
Staying on the same topic, Rogan and Trussell talked about how Jacobs could have become a murderer. They explained how much planning it must have taken to do something like this. The plane could have crashed anywhere.
Trevor Jacobs, the dumbest YouTuber in history has pled guilty to intentionally crashing his plane for clout/views like everyone knew he did from day 1. I hope he gets the maximum 20 year sentence. Why?

Rogan said, “I mean who knows where that plane was what happens if that plane catches wind? That’s so wild. [What if it] flies into someone’s house? And then the guy’s a mass murderer.”
Trussell also talked about how the person inventing YouTube must have never thought this invention will be used to crash planes at a point.
According to reports, Jacobs’ aircraft crashed into an unpopulated scrubland in Los Padres National Forest. It is a forest region near California. He later admitted to airlifting the wreckage of the crash and disposing of it. However, he did not inform the investigators about it at the time.
