Notably, his record includes wins against Li Jingliang, Kevin Holland, Gilbert Burns, and Kamaru Usman. Although his shenanigans inside the Octagon are well documented, let’s try and find out more about his personal life.

Khamzat Chimaev speaks about his family and move to Sweden
Aside from this, there is an old interview with Khamzat revealing a little about his father. Notably, he was always busy with his work but made time to teach his sons how to pray. Despite not being able to make time to watch Khamzat and his brother practice, the unnamed individual inculcated good values in them. Considering the difficult times Chiamev and his family faced, he holds his father’s contributions in high regard.
For those unaware, Khamzat was born in Chechnya, Russia, where he began wrestling at a young age. Having grown up surrounded by war, it was his elder brother Arthur who suggested that the family shift to Sweden. With Arthur already settled in Sweden, Khamzat, along with his mother and sister, followed suit. However, it is assumed that his father likely stayed behind, possibly due to his work.
In an interview with Brett Okamoto, Khamzat revealed how it was difficult living in a small accommodation in Sweden. Despite this, his mother would make conscious efforts for him and his siblings, practically raising them on her own. Although she prefers not to watch his fights, Khamzat is very close to his mother. Having relocated to the UAE and changed his nationality, Chimaev has likely done the same for the rest of his family.
