SUMMARY

- Sean Strickland breaks his tough guy character to cry on Theo Von's podcast.
Sean Strickland has built quite a reputation for himself in the UFC. Aside from his shenanigans inside the Octagon, he has a bold and boisterous personality outside of it. However, just like any other fighter and human being, Sean has a soft side to him.
For the most part, Strickland has always painted himself as a real man. Despite his conflicting opinions and over-the-line statements at times, Sean has made it very clear as to how he would like to be perceived. Often seen as a no-nonsense tough guy, there have hardly been any occasions where things have bothered the ‘Tarzan’.

However, recently, ‘Tarzan’ took to social media to reveal that he had recorded an episode on comedian Theo Von’s podcast. Notably, Sean also hinted at the fact that things got a little emotional from his side during the filming of this Past Weekend’s latest episode. “So I did a podcast with Theo… goddamn wall broke a little bit, allergies started to act up… It wasn’t my finest moment… damn demons lol,” he wrote on social media.
Since his comments, fans have been very keen to tune in to this episode. Whilst some may want to witness Strickland crying, others simply want to see another side to the middleweight champion. Although it is currently unknown when the podcast will drop, fans are for sure going to be keeping their eyes peeled for this one.
Sean Strickland got into a brawl at UFC 296
For the most part, the podcast comes at a very opportune moment. Recently, fans have started to witness a different side to Strickland, especially after the 2024 Seasonal Press Conference. In what was a welcome return from pre-COVID times, Strickland, along with Alexander Volkanovski and Sean O’Malley, had their press conference.
Sitting opposite his UFC 297 opponent, Dricus du Plessis, things started off on a somber note. However, things soon got heated between the two, and abuse was hurled at one another. Notably, du Plessis spoke about beating Strickland worse than he was beaten by his dad as a child. For those unaware, Sean had a very difficult childhood and upbringing due to his alcoholic dad, who would often beat him.
Understandably, the comments did not sit well with the 32-year-old. In return, Strickland called du Plessis a ‘f****t’ and insinuated inappropriate relations between him and his coach. To make matters worse, the two also found themselves within punching range of each other at UFC 296 just a day later. In a logistical mishap, the two opponents were seated too close to each other, meaning that all hell was going to break loose.
During the event, Sean Strickland and Dricus du Plessis got into a verbal argument which soon turned physical. Advising Gilbert Burns’ family to move away, Strickland launched himself at the South African, landing a barrage of punches. Eventually, the fight was broken up and Strickland was escorted out of the arena. Thus, it is evident that du Plessis touched a nerve, something that Sean will likely reveal in the upcoming podcast.
