On March 22, the country was startled by a tragic terror attack that killed over 40 and injured more than 100 Russian citizens as per CBS. The incident took place inside Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk around 20:00 local time.
In several video feeds, some gunmen were seen entering the venue and opening fire. The incident took place during a music concert and Moscow’s mayor Sergei Sobyanin issued a statement afterward to express his sorrow. Recently, sports fans saw mass shootings take place during the Kansas City Chief’s celebration parade.
While superstars like Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were celebrating their breathtaking Super Bowl LVIII win over the San Francisco 49ers, a mass shooting broke out which killed radio host and mother of two children, Lisa Lopez. Such heinous incidents are a crime against humanity and President Vladimir Putin has shared his condolences with the victims and their families after the attack in Russia.
Islam Makhachev shares his thoughts on terror attacks in Russia
Islam Makhachev, who hails from Dagestan, Russia, took to his Instagram account and shared his thoughts on the incident. Makhachev and his cousin Khabib Nurmagomedov are massive superstars in Russia. After Nurmagomedov defeated Conor McGregor at UFC 229, President Vladimir Putin reached out to “The Eagle.” Not only that, he also gifted Khabib worth $20 million worth of property in Russia.
Although Khabib has yet to break his silence on the attacks publicly, Islam Makhachev has condemned the terrorist attacks. Makhachev, who is coming off a stunning KO win over Alexander Volkanovski, paid his respect to the victims and called for the culprits to be “punished.”
