In the audio posted by Costa, Theo asks Strickland, “Let’s say this, you had to gay out or whatever with one good fighter in the UFC and it can be any weight class…”
Strickland interrupted Theo while he was speaking and asked, “Like [are you] talking about physically f*cking somebody?”
Theo responded, “No, it can be just a date it could be, but there’s some kissing at the end…”
Further, as heard in Theo’s post, Strickland claims Costa is a handsome Brazilian man. He admitted he could have chosen Costa for the said act.
Borrachina captioned his now-deleted post on X, “This must be AI.” The Brazilian middleweight fighter refused to believe Strickland made such comments in reality. Moreover, these comments made many fans question Strickland’s sexuality as well.
Sean Strickland previously called Paulo Costa a homophobe
Not too long ago, Strickland and Costa were involved in a feud. Both were highly ranked Middleweight fighters aspiring to be champions in the coming time. With their outspoken nature, their feud did not come as a surprise.
Initially, Costa called Strickland a f*g on X. The American would never stand back from such an insult so he went on a rant against Costa.
In an interview with The Schmo, Strickland reminded Costa about how Israel Adesanya celebrated his victory over Costa at UFC 253. Strickland said, “F*ckin’ Costa. What is it with that guy?” Strickland began. “He was calling me a f*ckin’ f*g…”
Moreover, he even called Costa a homophobe. He said, “I’m not going around calling people f*gs. I love the gays. Paulo Costa, this f*ckin’ guy, he’s over here being a f*ckin’ homophobe just because he got molested once by f*ckin’ Izzy. That’s not f*ckin’ cool, bro.”
Since the interview was released in March, Costa has gone on to face several fight cancellations and has not fought since August 2022. On the other hand, Strickland went on to face Adesanya and defeated him via unanimous decision to win the title.
Strickland is set to defend his title against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 297. Costa, on the other hand, has another scheduled fight. This time, he is set to face former UFC Middleweight champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 298.
