SUMMARY
- Jorge Masvidal visited Stockton, California - Nate Diaz's hometown.
- Masvidal threatened Diaz on X a few days and showed up to his hometown soon after.
In his search of former Octagon foe Nate Diaz, Jorge Masvidal has made a trip to Stockton, California. Masvidal and Diaz, the original BMF title contenders, have both called it quits on their UFC journeys a while back. However, rumors of a comeback for both fighters have been doing the rounds.
Diaz faced Masvidal at UFC 244 on November 2, 2019. The main event was for the symbolic “Baddest MotherF*cker” (BMF) belt. Masvidal dominated the fight and eventually won it via TKO between rounds three and four. The cage-side physician rendered Diaz unable to continue due to the cut over his right eye. The decision was controversial, according to many fight fans.

However, the Diaz-Masvidal rivalry never reached the levels of the Masvidal-Colby Covington rivalry. The bad blood did not reach a point where they brawled outside the Octagon. But could the rivalry take such a turn now?
Masvidal took a trip to Stockton and posted about it on his social media. He specifically called out Diaz, and fans were riled up about it.
Jorge Masvidal calls out Nate Diaz upon visiting his hometown Stockton, California
Masvidal threatened Diaz on X a few days ago writing, “YOU’RE DEAD @NateDiaz209.” Few knew that Masvidal would end up in Stockton, Diaz’s hometown.
He posted a picture of himself in front of a monument that had Stockton written on it. He captioned the image, “I’m here #209.”
Further, Masvidal posted a video of him having tacos at one of the famous places in Stockton. In the video, he said, ”I heard Nate be around here sometimes and heard these tacos are fire, so I’m about to murder these f**king tacos and then murder whatever else comes in my way.”

Gamebred was even willing to give his number to one of the employees at the shop. He wanted the employee to give it to Diaz so that they could set something up.
Diaz is raring to return to the Octagon with UFC 306 in sights after UFC 300 snub
Until the UFC 300 main event between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill was announced, rumors had everyone’s names flying in. Masvidal and Diaz were no strangers.
Masvidal (35-17) hung up his gloves at the UFC after facing a fourth straight defeat in April 2023. Two of his defeats were title shots against Kamaru Usman. He faced defeats against Covington and Gilbert Burns before retiring. However, he posted “unretired” on his X account which made fans think he was in for a fight at UFC 300. It is left to be seen if he does make an official return to combat sports.

On the other hand, Diaz (22-13) last fought a pro-MMA fight in September 2022. He defeated Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 and did not re-sign with the UFC. The Stockton Slugger did return to combat sports but inside the squared ring against Jake Paul. The pair fought for half an hour and eventually ‘The Problem Child’ emerged victorious via decision.
Diaz, however, seems raring to return to the UFC. Before UFC 300, he claimed he would love to fight at the milestone PPV but did not have an opponent. This made fans feel something might get set up for the UFC veteran. Rumor had it that Diaz could have a trilogy fight against Conor McGregor, who has not fought since July 2021. But, McGregor seems to have found a fight against Michael Chandler.

Moreover, Diaz recently claimed that he was interested in UFC 306. The event is set to take place at the Sphere in Las Vegas to celebrate Mexican Independence Day. It will be interesting to see if a fight comes up for either Masvidal or Diaz soon.
