Vivek Ramaswamy is an American entrepreneur and politician, who was previously contesting for the Republican Presidential candidate nominations and has since then suspended his campaign. Ramaswamy also has a YouTube channel on which he hosts a podcast named, “The TRUTH.” He invites esteemed guests on the podcast where he discusses business, politics, and a wide range of topics. In a recent episode of the podcast, UFC CEO Dana White was invited as a guest.
The two entrepreneurs and business masterminds discussed many topics on the podcast. One such topic was about a High School Basketball team in Maine. Rather it was on the recriminations that they were about to face for simply being “too good.”
White opened the discussion stating, “Apparently, there’s a basketball team up there that is incredible. High school or college team, I’m not sure. They’re really good, and they’re smoking teams. The state is now going to impose something on them. They’re going to be penalized for blowing teams out of the water… because they’re too good.”
Dana White talks about a basketball team in Maine being penalized for ‘blowing teams out of the water’:
Everyone of you that are involved in this, in the state of Maine, that are imposing this thing on this team – you guys fucking make me sick. You are what’s wrong with this… pic.twitter.com/5fZe7NfHWA

Vivek Ramaswamy agreed and likened the situation to that of America. He said, “That’s insane, and yet sounds perfectly in the moment. Right? That’s exactly what’s happening in this country.” Dana then criticized those who were with this decision saying, “(To those) imposing this thing on this team, you guys fucking make me sick. You are what’s wrong with this country right now.”
He further added his desire to give the team an opportunity to witness a UFC event and to showcase their talent against better opposition maybe from teams in Las Vegas. Ramaswamy suggested hosting a tournament for them to which Dana White seemed unopposed. It will be interesting to see how Dana White acts on his statements but let’s learn more about this team.
Oceanside Boys High School beat opponents by a landslide margin of 88 points
For quite some time now a particular high school basketball team in Maine has been pulling off incredible victories. The Oceanside Boys High School basketball team is redefining the meaning of what it means to be dominant. They are not just defeating their competition, but rather making them rethink their decision to play basketball. That’s how good they have been.
Just recently in a Wednesday night game against Belfast on January 17, 2024, the Oceanside team won with a whopping 88 points. The scoreline at the end of the four quarters read 126-38. Readers would be forgiven to think that it was a once in a blue moon game for the Oceanside team. This was the fifth time this season of the Maine High School Basketball League.
On the opening night itself, they walked over Cony with a 59-110 victory. They have been so dominant that complaints have been made against them for their supposed “unsportsmanlike” way of gaining victories. Their 12-0 record up till now in the league speaks for itself. The average victory margin for the Oceanside team is 41.3 points per game.
They also are the Class-B runners up of last season. Larry Reed who has been the side’s coach for 5 years now was apparently instructed by the Maine principle association to “make the games a little more contested,” and that “if it continues, the Ethics Committee could step in” according to the Bangord Daily News website.
Carter Galley (32.5 points per game), Cohen Galley (23.3 points per game) and junior Zeb Foster (12.6 points per game) have been pulled back mid-third quarter many times by the coach to prevent lopsided victories. But now the coach and the team have been more cautious in the way they win.
They have started slowing down games after blowing past the opposition for a bit. It will be interesting to see if they get sanctioned in any way once the season ends.

A declaration of candidacy for the Republican Party nomination means that Vivek Ramaswamy was pitted directly against some heavy hitters in the political landscape of the United States. These included political figures like Donald Trump and Ronald DeSantis. Throughout his political campaign in 2023, Ramaswamy had made advances against Ron DeSantis quite frequently.
But he has never really gone against Donald Trump. Ramaswamy has supported Trump vocally even while running against him for the 2024 Republican nomination. When Trump was indicted in Federal Criminal Charges in 2023, Ramaswamy came to his support by vowing to pardon Trump if elected President. This tells you about Ramaswamy’s views on Donald Trump.
Further, after finishing fourth in the Iowa caucuses, and taking down his nomination, Vivek Ramaswamy has started endorsing Donald Trump. Vivek Ramaswamy also shares a healthy relationship with Dana White. Ramaswamy benefits significantly from his association with the Republican Party. It is a well-known fact that Dana is friends with Donald Trump who has shown support to Dana time and again.
Trump also famously attends UFC events whenever he can. And a friend of a friend is a friend. Dana and Ramaswamy share a healthy and intellectual bond as was evident in the recent Podcast of them together.
