Bellator’s dual Champion Patricio Freire called has been in the limelight ever since he called out UFC Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski for a cross-promotional UFC vs Bellator – Champion vs Champion fight to determine the greatest featherweight of all time. Patricio Freire is the reigning Bellator Featherweight and Lightweight World Champion. Both Freire and Volkanovski have shown great interest in the idea and both the fighters have had a lot of back and forth on social media in light of this alleged match-up. Freire called out UFC President Dana White. Additionally, he even volunteered to pay Volkanovski’s pay. Freire promised a knockout win over the UFC Champion as he captioned, “I’ll remember those words after I knock you out.”

Patricio Freire finished his tweet with a line that has been winning the hearts of many fight fans. “It would be an honor to wear Max Holloway’s belt,” Freire said. However, Max Holloway has lost back to bac controversial decision losses to Alexander Volkanovski with UFC President Dana White looking at a trilogy fight between both the fighters. Patricio Freire credited Holloway and stated that it would be an honor for him to strap Holloway’s featherweight gold.

Max Holloway will go down as one of the greatest mixed martial artist of all time and one of the best to hail the featherweight division. Holloway remained the undisputed king of the featherweight division for half a decade. Additionally, with notable victories over Jose Aldo (twice), Brian Ortega, Cub Swanson, Anthony Pettis, and Frankie Edgar. At just 29, Holloway has cemented himself as one of the greatest of all time, having fought some of the most prominent names in the history of mixed martial arts. Max Holloway lost his UFC featherweight championship at UFC 245 in a controversial unanimous decision loss to Alexander Volkanovski. Both the fighters faced each other in a rematch, with Volkanovski promising a knockout win over the former Champion to settle the debate.
However, it turned out to be an even closer encounter with Volkanovski defending his featherweight gold with yet another controversial split decision win.
