According to the former Golden Gloves boxing champion, he’s fully focused on the fight ahead, saying, “I have thought about that, after my first UFC fight. I was like I’m gonna start retiring. But right now, I’m focused on November 11, that’s all I care about. And then you know, once I’m done, I’ll figure it out.”
When the interviewer further asked about what else he wanted to achieve, Stipe replied in a joking manner, “Probably go to Buffalo Wild Wings, go get some wings.” Nonetheless, Stone Cold’s latest interview confirms that, unlike Jon Jones, he isn’t planning to retire anytime soon. Moreover, he seems to take up big fights in the future as well.
Here’s what Stipe Miocic has to say about his upcoming fight with Jon Jones
Jon Jones is the former two-time UFC Light Heavyweight champion. But he made his heavyweight debut in March 2023, ending a three-year break from the octagon. He returned to the octagon by gaining victory against Ciryl Gane. Since then he’s held the heavyweight title.
The 36-year-old Jones, who stands tall at 6ft 4in, is now set to face Stipe Miocic, and he’s confident about his skills. Stipe Miocic, on the other hand, hasn’t stepped into the octagon for two and a half years. He last fought Francis Ngannou in March 2021. However, the bout ended in a way he didn’t envision.

In the latest review, Miocic shared why this upcoming fight means so much to him. He explained, “There’s a lot of reasons. One, I want to fight the best. I’m a competitor. I love to compete, and I love fighting. I’m still having fun.” He further added, “Two, my last fight didn’t go as well as I wanted it to. I’m ready to bounce back and get that win.”
According to Stipe Miocic, his victory against Jon Jones would solidify his legacy and make him the GOAT of the heavyweight division.
