Welterweight fighter Ian Garry is considered to be the next big thing from Ireland in the UFC after the iconic Conor McGregor. Garry’s rise in the 170-pound division rankings and his unbeaten record in MMA are also testaments to his bright future in the promotion. Garry has himself claimed to be the biggest fan of McGregor, and he also hopes to make a name for himself in the fight game just like his idol did.
However, the welterweight fighter surprised the MMA world by signing with Betr Media, a company owned by Conor McGregor’s bitter rival, Jake Paul. When asked about the same by journalist Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Garry credited his success to Conor and also believed that it was okay for him to be friends with two different individuals who do not get along well.
“What they want to do, what they have, and their personal beef have nothing to do with it. If you have two friends that don’t get on, if you have two people that know they don’t get on, you can still be friends with both.” said Ian Garry on MMA Hour.
Garry’s decision to not let friendship and emotions affect his business side of things has left fans divided. A bunch of them are of the opinion that when you claim to be such a big fan of someone, you cannot just shake hands with their rival. However, there are others who think that Conor himself, being a professional athlete, will understand Garry.
Conor McGregor and Jake Paul beef
‘The Problem Child‘ has called out the Irishman several times since he started his career in boxing. Also, why wouldn’t he? Conor is the biggest name in the world of combat sports, and fighting him can really be the biggest payday of your life.
Jake Paul has often accused Conor of taking steroids and attacked his personal life as well. “Conor, Conor, Conor, you are more active on Twitter than you are in the octagon. Stop taking trenbolone and start taking drugs. You are more actively cheating on your wife than you are in the octagon,” said Jake Paul.
You are a flop, kid. A nobody.

Conor also took to Twitter to call Jake a ‘flop’ and a ‘nobody’. He also commented on Jake’s most recent fight against Nate Diaz, calling the fight ‘garbage’. Paul, too, responded to McGregor in a press conference, calling him out once again for his alleged steroid usage and even going on to say that McGregor needs to go to rehab.
