Daniel Cormier is one of the very few fighters to be the UFC two-division champion. He managed to establish his dominance in both the heavyweight and light heavyweight divisions of the promotion. His feud with UFC champion Jon Jones is regarded by many as the greatest rivalry in the world of MMA.
Recently in the Pivot Podcast, Daniel ‘DC’ Cormier spoke about how protective he is as a father. DC and Super Bowl champion Ryan Clark along with the other hosts talked about a lot of things in the podcast.
When the conversation shifted to their children, DC immediately remembered an incident involving his kids and said, “I pushed a little girl down one time. I’m sorry bro, I’ma tell you the truth. When I was fighting I was wired a little different a little girl kept beating on Daniel that’s Bob and Cassandra’s house from my easter party she pushed him down so I pushed her down”. The straightforwardness of the statement even took the hosts by surprise.

Cormier further recalls a moment in the park when his son was 4 years old,” Hey if your kid pushes my kid one more time, I’m gonna push your a** down.’ He was like, ‘What?’ I was like, ‘Man, get your kid under control. If he pushes him one more time, I’m gonna push you down.”
The father left with his child immediately after receiving the threat from the former UFC heavyweight champion. So, it clearly shows how particular and serious the MMA veteran is for his children’s safety
Who are Daniel Cormier’s children, and what are they doing now?
Daniel Cormier has a son named Daniel Jr. who was born in February 2011. The very next year, his wife Salina Deleon gave birth to their daughter Marquita Kalani. In 2020, the couple welcomed their third child Luna Rose.
In 2003, Daniel Cormier’s three-month-old daughter Kaedyn, from his then-girlfriend, was involved in an accident that caused her death. The UFC champion was mentally shaken after this unfortunate incident.
Cormier’s son Daniel Jr. accompanied his father when he was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in the year 2022. The auspicious event became even more special for the UFC legend as Khabib Nurmagomedov was also inducted along with him.
Daniel Jr. is currently training at the American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) where his father is the assistant coach.
Daniel Cormier is undoubtedly one of the greatest ever to have ever played the sport but as his friend and UFC veteran Khabib has several times mentioned, he is a great family man too.
