UFC CEO Dana White expressed his desire to host an event at the newly inaugurated Sphere in Las Vegas. It is the costliest entertainment arena in Las Vegas. The Sphere cost approximately $2.3 billion to build. White wants UFC to host the first-ever live event at the place and make it the “greatest combat sports event”.
At the DWCS press conference, White claimed, “The Sphere is a whole ‘nother level… I mean, these guys really nailed it… everything that these guys are doing over there is first-class and it’s incredible.”
He expressed his desire to host a live UFC event at the Sphere next September. White is targeting the Mexican Independence Day. “I’m just gonna tell you right now, I will put on the greatest live combat sports event anybody has ever seen at the Sphere in September for Mexican Independence Day,” he declared. I f*cking guarantee it. I’m so in on this it’s not even funny.”

White even estimated the amount of money that may be required to get the job done. He said, “[It could] cost shitloads of money hundreds of thousands to a million”
It is expected from White that he can put up an extraordinary show if he wants to. He looked seriously interested in putting up a UFC event at the Sphere. White also claimed that he is targeting next year because they will need time to finalize things. If the project does get a green signal, we surely are in for something remarkable.
UFC CEO Dana White slams boxing promotions’ ability to host an event at the Sphere
White completely disagreed with the idea that a boxing promotion could do a show at the Sphere. He let out his hate for the boxing promotions as he slammed them for not even being able to show replays.
“These boxing guys are calling them up going, ‘Oh, we want to do a fight over there.’ Those f*cking guys,” White said. “They’re not going to spend the money to put a f*cking show on there. Those guys can’t even do f*cking replays for Christ’s sake.”
Dana White vs boxing.
Apparently the UFC is putting their bid in to try to be the first combat sports show to hold a big event there.
Boxing is also trying to do it first. They’re both hitting up the Sphere to see who gets it.#UFC #UFC294 #MMA #Boxing #Dana pic.twitter.com/CljRd7CGeH

Further, he was informed at the press conference that two boxing promotions are getting together to host an event at the Sphere. He claimed none of them had the money and that they would fight with each other.
“Boxing is going to fuck around with them on the tickets. They don’t have the money to do it. None of those bums got the money to do it. I’ll do it.”
The 18,600-seater Sphere’s construction began almost four years ago. Its immersive video and audio capabilities have been described as futuristic. The first show at the venue was performed by the Irish rock band U2, on September 29, 2023.
