Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury was a spectacle with mainstream attention. ‘The Predator’ made his boxing debut with a bang by going toe-to-toe against the WBC champion. While Francis lost a split decision, he was getting praise from everyone in the fight industry. However, UFC president Dana White did not give any comments on the fight.
But, it all has changed now as Dana White has broken his silence regarding Ngannou and the fight. In a recent interview, Dana finally shared his opinion regarding the epic boxing clash. “I didn’t see the fight but the fact that he (Francis Ngannou) went 10 rounds with Tyson Fury is crazy,” said the UFC president.

Furthermore, he talked about some other stellar boxing performances by former UFC fighters. “He (Francis Ngannou) just went 10 rounds with Tyson Fury, Conor made it 9 or 10 with Floyd, Anthony Pettis just beat Roy Jones Jr… I don’t know what the hell is going on, it’s crazy,” said Dana.
It looks like the UFC president is taking shots at the sport of boxing, While MMA fighters are doing really well in boxing, Dana White knows that boxers won’t be able to do the same in MMA which was evident by James Toney’s performance against Randy Couture.
Dana White sets the record straight on fighters leaving the UFC
These days a bunch of fighters have started to figure out ways to make more money outside the UFC. Fighters like Anthony Pettis, Francis Ngannou, and Nate Diaz have made it evident that there are a lot of opportunities outside the biggest MMA promotion.
Dana White has finally shared his stance on fighters leaving the UFC. In his recent interview, when he was asked about fighters cycling out of the UFC to pursue boxing, he had a candid response to the situation.
“I don’t care, listen at some point everybody’s gonna move on and everybody has to do what’s right for them and make money for their families,” said White. He feels that the fighters will do what they have to do for money. This is surprising since Dana was trashing Francis for leaving the UFC for mediocre competition in the PFL.
Francis Ngannou has opened a lot of doors for fellow MMA heavyweights in the field of boxing. After seeing this fight, Dana White could be planning a potential match between Jon Jones and Tyson Fury. Furthermore, it is great that Dana is finally giving Francis his flowers which he definitely deserves.
