Dana White had a difficult start to the year. Barring the failure of his brainchild Power Slap League, White also had to deal with issues in his family. Notably, the earlier part of the year was a tumultuous time for the White family.
Previously, Dana found himself in a sticky situation in the aftermath of the slapping incident on New Year’s Eve. Not only was the matter very embarrassing for him and his wife, but it also caused a rift within his family. Over the next few months, the UFC head honcho and his wife worked very hard to set things right. As such, the White family has seemingly moved past the debacle.

Speaking to Piers Morgan in an interview, Dana reveals how his kids dealt with the situation. “Everybody was acting like there needed to be some big apology to the world. The apology was to my kids, from me and my wife. Nobody wants to see their dumb drunk parents slapping each other on TMZ”. Further, White added, “Our oldest son didn’t talk to us for like 4 days, and the other kids had to deal with some stuff too. It’s embarrassing and the only apology that needed to be made was to our children”.
Understandably, an incident of such magnitude is bound to have adverse effects on any family. As Dana revealed, his oldest son and namesake, Dana III did not take it well. Similarly, his other son Aidan and daughter Savannah also had a difficult time dealing with things. All things considered, Dana seems to be pretty content with how he and his wife have handled things since the incident.
What happened between Dana White and his wife on New Year’s Eve?
Previously, Dana got into a physical altercation with his wife, Anne White on New Year’s Eve of 2023. During a party at a club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Anne White was spotted lashing out at Dana, who responded with a couple of slaps of his own. Soon enough, the scuffle was recorded and circulated to major media outlets across the globe.
According to witnesses on the scene, the altercation occurred out of thin air, likely fueled by alcohol. Thankfully, people who were nearby stepped in and managed to keep things from escalating any further. As such, Dana’s wife, Anne was then led away. Despite it being a very brief scuffle, it caused a lot of trouble for White when word of the incident got out. However, the UFC President was quick to get ahead of things and released a statement to TMZ.

For the most part, White revealed that he and his wife would be dealing with the situation behind closed doors. Around the same time, people and media outlets began revealing further incriminating stories from White’s past. Additionally, the incident occurred just prior to the airing of Dana’s controversial Power Slap League, which gave people even more ammunition against him.
Thus, it led to weeks of relentless trolling on social media with some asking for White’s resignation from the UFC. All things considered, one can imagine the severe duress the UFC boss was under at the time. With all parts of his life seemingly falling apart, White was able to pull himself out of the mess. Eventually, White began appearing for UFC events again for a while and worked on mending his relationship with his wife and kids as well.
